Words To Power’s Privacy Policy

At Words To Power, we are committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of our stakeholders’ data, including Personally Identifiable Information (PII). To uphold these principles, we adhere to the following guidelines.

Personal Information

Words To Power collects personal information from our website visitors on a voluntary basis only, and visitors will always be aware when we are attempting to collect such information. Our website uses industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to make sure any information shareed with us cannot be intercepted. We do not sell, rent, or transmit personal information to other organizations or third parties. Visitors may remove their name from our email or mailing list at any time.

Because Words To Power considers the individual information we maintain to be confidential, we will not disclose any personal information to third parties unless its release is required by law or is pertinent to judicial proceedings. We will put forth our best efforts to implement this privacy policy; however, we cannot guarantee that information we seek to protect will be protected under all circumstances, including those beyond our control.

Student Information

Words To Power gives students in our workshops the opportunity to submit their poetry to our youth-written books. Their submission is voluntary. We only publish the name a student wants in the book and their age. We ask for the school’s name to report back to that school’s leaders the numbers of their students who submit a poem and perform at the summer book release event. Knowing the school also helps us focus the books on schools with which we work. We do not share that information with anybody outside of that school. In the submission, we collect a student’s email as well as a parent/guardian email and phone number. We use this information to automatically confirm submission of the poem via email (to the student and their parent/guardian), notify families of selection, inform them of book release details, and share additional opportunities to present their poetry. We do not share that contact information with anyone.

Online Donations

Online and offline donations are safe and secure. When a person donates online or offline, Words To Power will never sell, rent or trade this information to a third party. Words To Power uses industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to protect the confidentiality of personal information and the security of online transactions. Words To Power’s online donations are processed through Givelively.org (For details, visit Givelively.org) All online transactions are confirmed by a follow-up email.
