Here we go… t-shirt design is ready for the theme of Words To Power’s 2024 book of youth poetry (145 submissions thus far!). We will have unisex t-shirts available at the book release event on Friday, June 21st at 6pm at La Raza Park. Youth contributors will receive a shirt… in addition to 3 copies of the book (we’ll publish 2 different versions… 1 for ages 10-14 and 1 for ages 15+)… youth who perform at the event will also receive $50 cash.

Thank you Bonfils-Stanton Foundation for your support of Words To Power’s work in community!We are thrilled to announce the recipients of Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Inclusive Communities Grants. This funding opportunity was designed to support local, community-oriented organizations that play a critical role in the Denver area’s cultural ecosystem through public programs that integrate arts and culture. A big congratulations to the trailblazing Denver-area arts and culture organizations that are making a profound impact in our BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disability communities. These organizations each receive $5,000 in unrestricted funding to continue their vital work in fostering vibrant, inclusive communities through artistic and cultural expression. Group photo from a recent partnership (3 workshops + 1 student open mic during a family night)… as youth shared powerful poetry they wrote during our time together… We had the honor of working with 4 English classes. In addition to each student receiving a copy of our recent youth-written poetry book, many submitted their poems to the publication we will release this summer.
